Scientific reasoning in kindergarten: A comprehensive inventory

Already 6-year-olds show basic abilities in scientific reasoning! Our recent study also reveals substantial individual differences in kindergarten: While some children are very skilful in scientific reasoning, others still find it difficult. 

The Science-K Inventory is a comprehensive test that consists of 30 questions. The following skills are covered by the Science-K Inventory:

  • Experimentation
  • Data interpretation
  • What is science? (Nature of Science)
